Evidence-based Mental Health Care

Getting Started

The first step is a free 15-minute consultation — a chance for you to share a bit about what's bringing you to therapy, ask questions, and get a feel for whether we're a good fit. There's no pressure, and no wrong questions.

If it feels right to move forward, we'll schedule an initial intake appointment. In that first session, we’ll talk about your background, current concerns, and what you'd like to get out of our time together. We'll start sketching a treatment direction that actually fits you.

If a formal diagnosis would be useful, I can conduct a structured clinical interview to assess your symptoms and determine whether they meet criteria for a specific diagnosis. That said, a diagnosis is a tool, not a requirement, and we can work meaningfully together either way.

While the first session is the official intake, treatment planning sometimes naturally continues into the next session or two. That's completely normal — people are layered, and getting the full picture takes a little time.

Throughout our work together, we'll check in regularly to make sure therapy is still doing what it's supposed to do for you and adjust our approach as needed. I see this as an ongoing conversation, not a fixed plan we set and never revisit.

Logistics & Fees

I can see patients located in California, Massachusetts, and Maryland.

Sessions are 55 minutes and take place via telehealth. How frequently we meet and how long we work together depends on you and what you're working through, but it often starts with weekly sessions. We'll figure out what makes sense together and revisit it as your needs evolve.

Fees

  • Initial intake session: $300

  • Standard session: $250

Payment is due at the time of each session. I accept credit and debit cards, as well as HSA and FSA payments.

I am not in-network with insurance, but I may be covered as an out-of-network provider. I'm happy to provide a monthly superbill (typically using CPT code 90837) that you can submit to your insurer for potential reimbursement. A Good Faith Estimate of expected charges is available upon request.

I also reserve a small number of sliding-scale spots for clients who would otherwise be unable to access care. If cost is a barrier, please feel free to reach out — I'm glad to have that conversation.
